I completely missed that this was out. I know they have some fans here, and they used to get some good pub on this board. Thoughts? Opinions?

They're a cajun rock'n'roll band from Lafayette, Louisiana. Combines all the best elements of rock, zydeco, blues, and funk. Alot of fun, and they're great live. This is their fifth album. I know Fast'n'bulbus , Babe, were big fans, and so is someone else beside Billzebub.

Grab their debut, I don't recall if I snuck this one in my Listmania, but if not it shoulda been there. It's great, the songs are all in the 3 -4 minute range for nice digestible nuggets. Chateau Chuck is a bit more complex, but equally as good--the songs just don't play as well on a mix cd--it's a record that demands attention in its entirety.

Think zydeco, but hard rockin' zydeco.

From their website

We're still very excited that 3 songs off Honey Slides are featured as Walk-In Music for the current Bruce Springsteen Devils and Dust tour. Voodoo Mens and Voodoo Dolls, Ghost of a Girl and Big Head are among the songs he plays prior to each show. Rumor has it Bruce is very particular and has hand selected all the songs to be played. Only Bob Dylan has more songs on the list.....Here is the link to all the music he plays: www.brucespringsteen.net/live/walkinmusic.html

I might be the other fan you're thinking of...I like them but truthfully they get a bit lost in my collection. When I'm in a zydeco mode, I tend to grab something by one of the Ardoin Brothers or a Rockin' Dopsie first

edit: I haven't heard the new one yet though.

One of my earliest memories of live music is seeing Rocking Dopsie and Clifton Chenier in concert with my dad. It was right before Chenier died, so I was like 5 or 6.
