EPs. I was going thru my record collection and drooling over the EPs I've collected over the years- extended remixes, bonus tracks, etc.

Seems like there just aren't as many on CD. And they sure aren't as cool as the big LPs with 2-3 tracks a side.

Am I just shopping in the wrong "record" stores?

I see lotsa EPs about...maybe not by the more popular artists, but definitely by lesser-known bands.

it seems as though these days only bands who can't afford to record an entire album record EPs. Once they've 'made it big', it seems as though the shtick is, "anything less than a whole LP is inadequate". It's a shame, really. EPs have their own intangible charm.

Alice in Chains did it right, releasing mellower EPs inbetween their albums.

I always liked Sap. I kinda miss that band. I'm going to have to bust out some Dirt sometime.
