I am supposing that the World's Largest OPENLY Open-air Cocktail Party has become an unfortunate bender, with the attendent DUI and criminal damage charges, for the UGA faithful.... Good job, Urban!

And, apparently, Harry is right then: the biggest (only) test for 'SC will be the Bruins of Westwood.

Not much of a challenge, then. Particularly when the LA qb shares his name, to the letter, with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel baseball beat writer and frequent guest of radio no-talents Bob n' Brian.

Second-and-an-half championship consecutive for "second [sic] choice".

Go, Troy!

Yeah, I had to read half way down in order to learn what this thread was about. Glad to know you're still alive, DDawg!

You mean the ones that are losing to Standford 14-3 in the third quarter? Eh, might be a test... hey, at least UCLA isn't losing to Oklahoma State 28-12 at halftime.

If UGA had Shockley, this game wouldn't have been very close IMO. Georgia played real well after falling behind by 14, they just didn't have the offensive threat to have a dominating second half.
Texas is unreal, that game was like the USC/Oregon game earlier this year.
The Nebraska/OU game turned out to be quite a game after the Huskers trailed 21-3 at the half. OU still won the game 31-24, so it looks like Nebraska will now be fighting to secure a bowl game after looking like a sure thing a few weeks back. I'm really surprised that the media hasn't shown Bill Callahan making the throat slashing gesture at the Ref after they missed a blatant holding call.

Yeah, we lost and I definitely don't need busters like Spade Pussy to tell me so.

I can only imagine that Rick Derris is in a plastic prison in Jacksonville this morning after grilling a couple of UF fans.

We can still win the SEC and go to the Sugar Bowl---we weren't gonna play in the championship game even if we won out---the die is cast in the stupid-ass BCS if USC and Texas win out (even though I'm really starting to wonder how they are going to leave out VA Tech....oh they did that to Auburn last year  )

If this sounds like me rationalizing a loss---its not, I'm fucking pissed, though I did have a nice message on my answering machine from the normally caustic and emotional Scotty D telling me that everything would be fine in a calm and reassuring voice.

FWIW the Wildcats lost last night too, although this probably takes them from the Outback bowl to the frills.com bowl.

Yeah, not having your starting QB can be a drain....though it was the defense in the first half and some VERY suspect play calling in the 4th Quarter that lost us the game.

Joe T. did a pretty good job of filling in for D.J.

I thought he did well. The defense did their job, although UF ran the ball a little better than UG would have liked, I assume. The difference was not having Shockley. Im 100% sure that this game is won by 15+ points if he is playing.

The play calling killed us, plain and simple. As Scotty D says "PLAY PUSSY, GET FUCKED."

And I was PISSED on that drive back to the Gum on Saturday night...but I got a message from the same said SD and he was like "I ain't throwing the whole season away man. We still gonna get DJ back, win out, and beat Bama in the Dome for the SEC crown."

GA v. FL is like Jake Gittes: "Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown.." shit ain't never gonna make sense.

Got that same message from S.D. both on the Redlands phone and the voice mail.

It was an inspired speech to be sure and not much different than the one I gave you after the game that you dismissed as "loser talk" or some such.
