On the way home today from a bike-sickle ride, I passed by a Harley Davidson dealer, and in the parking lot was the HD traveling show (semi-truck/trailer), with some old, old bikes in it. I'm not a huge motorcycle fan, but I can appreciate 'em.

Here's a couple of pics- hope no one minds. :) Click on the pics for the bigger versions.

And then I went into the showroom. Woah.

It's not old, but I saw this at a car show in a restaurant parking lot when I was in Denver.

Bonnies are alive and well these days, you know, Konsty. My kawawsaki vulcan is parked next to one downstairs in the parking garage. If I had a bigger budget, I would've either gotten one of those, or maybe a triumph thruxton.

I had a '66- great bike- not 100% sure, but I think at the time, it was the biggest one Honda made.

There's another student who drives a honda 360T, which is tiny for its displacement... real narrow, low bars, almost scooter size. I drove in behind him yesterday, and was sure it was a little single, but I got closer, and damn if it wasn't a tiny twin. Neat bike, early 70's?

Pretty sure it was - it's my grandfather's midlife-crisis-mobile. This was his second, the first one was wrecked when a college student ran into him (he was a university Classics professor). He also bought my mom a 1965 & a half Ford Mustang (or rather, said it was for my mom, and then tended to drive it himself).

I'm a freak for late-60s to mid-70s Japanese models. In Tokyo, I used to rip around on my father-in-law's 1970 Kawasaki W2 (SS), 424 cc, and now I'm saving ducketts for a '66 Hondal CL350 Scrambler, 385 cc (below). I'm no grease monkey, but I make all attempts to maintain the sucker by my lonesome. I'm a manual-junkie. If all goes as planned, Santa will deliver this bad-ass from Florida without me doing any of the legwork.

Chuck, you mean the '64.5? Ford launched the mustang in Late 64, and folks wound up calling those first ones "64 and a halfs." Look just like the '65/'66's, with just a couple of tiny detail differences. Would've had an inline 6 in it?

Pretty cool that (most of) his crisis-mobiles survived for you to enjoy. My grandfather was too practical for those, and my dad is currently still enjoying his toys (frown).
