One of the Nelsons and probably Pryor vote for him, but other than that, straight party line vote.

IT'S ON. I'm glad someone else would play.

How much do you think Harry's Closed Session clown move is gonna stub their toes?

I enjoyed Reid's little parliamentary shake down. It stinks of something that an opposition party is supposed to do instead of sitting around with their thumbs up their asses complaining all the time.

Obviously I'll be interested to see what McCain has to say after the Gang of 14 or whateer meets.

I am mixed. It helps with the base, who now may think their folks are FINALLY doing something. FINALLY.

I just think that doing another whole election on war rationale is a loser. WE ARE AT WAR..NOW HOW DO WE WIN THE FUCKER AND GET OUT?!!

Americans don't like the blame game so much. They instinctively know that a good plan, violently executed today is better than a perfect plan next week...

So, I think that it is a net even. It was a pretty good move, really. The problem is the war is a LOSING ISSUE for Democrats, because they look like capitulators, and cannot get over the believability threshhold.

I'd disagree with him on just about every issue, but he seems like a fairly honest and intelligent man. I'd hate to see somebody not confirmed solely because of political reasons - they should save the big fights for the crooks, cronies, and scoundrels in government. Right now, politicians treat everyone on the other side of the aisle as dishonest.

This is where it sticks in my gums. It's still a move that is several years in the past. Move past this bullshit and do something worthwhile.

It also pisses all over the GOP's shoes, which ain't gonna help if you decide you want to filibuster, though I'm not sold on the fact that they will.

Hard to move on when the leadership is either
A. Taking their legislative agenda from the White House or
B. Saying they are going to do shit and then just not doing it (this Intel. investigation is exibit A)

They can't. They love "Noble Failure" they need to be RIGHT about the war more than they need to be in power...Asshats.
I am trying to piece together my thoughts on a real, and major repositioning/re-alignment of the way these things work, but no one listens to me.

I think I have an interesting handle on it, but it will need you massive editing skills or it'll be just another post on this board, whereas I kinda want to start some shit with it.

My entire caravan of thought got totally derailed thanks to the phone. Fuck Harry Reid, this is a bullshit move and will come back to bite his ass. You don't hit the biker at the end of the bar with a bottle cap.

But see, if they respond by going even further over the top of Reid, they look like the petty, petulant thugs that they are. Just cos they have a majority, doesn't mean they represent everyone, and Reid and Co. got em with a good blind side shot. What they need to do now is rush 'em, and not let them get the upper hand, cos if they do, this beating gets ugly like in Dazed and Confused.
