I am as intrigued as I am watching a police chase. I'll check in later to see what happened.

Moby goes punk
The dance artist is going back to his roots for new LP

Moby is preparing to head into the studio to record a series of punk songs for his next album.

While new release dates have been set, a posting on his official website revealed the news.

He wrote: "Over the last year I've written lots and lots of punk rock songs, and now I'm going to record them with (drummer) Scott Frassetto. They are definitely in the the fun but very rough camp of punk rock songs."

The dance artist is also working on a separate project under his Voodoo Child alter ego, his first since 2004's 'Baby Monkey'.

He added: "The Voodoo Child songs are very melodic and electronic and experimental and not exactly club-classic floor fillers."

No release dates have been set for either album.

Dammit, he's gonna play his own guitar again on this, isn't he? no, no no no no NOOO! Put that down, dammit. Just stoppit. You can afford to pay a guy who can actually play. Now go tinker with that drum machine.

He's always enjoyed playing punk. I forget which album, but he's actually done an album that was quite punky. I want to say, Animal Rights, but I'm probably the only one who has it on this board.

The b-side for the That's When I Reach for my Revolver 7" is a cover of Devo's Whip it.

Dalen and I already went 3 rounds about Moby in the past so I'll just say this: the guy does a lot of genre hopping, and in my opinion he does it successfully (i have and enjoy every single one of his albums). why keep chaning music styles? because he wants to join a bandwagon? i think not. he does it because he can.
