I'm leaning towards one the following, any recommendations or suggestions?

Black Mountain
Ike Reilly
Magic Numbers
The Go Team
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Lou Reed (Berlin or Songs for Drella)

Dunno. Never downloaded from iTunes before, so that's another question for me.

You can convert them to mp3, by burning them to a disc, and then ripping it. Lame, but it works.

I should scratch Magic Numbers because I picked it up for cheap on the record store today. I agree it's pretty nice so far.

It's between Ike and Black Mountain, I think.

Yep, Apple's protected format - these will be m4p files, not the unprotected m4a that Itunes rips with.

Not directly. This thread on the dbpowerAMP site tells you how to do it - basically, you strip the protection with the JHymn software and then use dbpowerAMP to convert it to mp3.
