Anyone give me the low down on them?
What do they sound like?
I can't find any mp3's. Does anyone have some?

Thinking of taking my brother from Sweden in law to see them. It's either them or the Redwalls at Schubas the day before.
He's into hard rock, ie Metallica, QOTSA and such.

Should I find a show elsewhere? I really wanted to take him to Schubas.

They're good live, not too hard. The lead singer looks like the dude from Train. I can't remember any reference points except Radiohead meets the 80s? maybe. It's been a while since I heard them. Really, really good live though.

Assassins are the new band featuring Joe Cassidy from Butterfly Child. Assassins were signed to a major label (Arista, I think), but have since parted ways with the label. They have a limited (250 copies) edition EP out. You can get the ep by contacting them through their website http://www.assassins.com. Last time I checked, they didn't have any mp3s posted.

I saw them at Schubas about 2 years ago, so my memory is kinda sketchy. They have a bassist, two guitarists, a drummer and a sampler/keyboardist. The drummer played both electronic drums and a traditional drum kit. Both guitarists (guy and girl) shared vocal duties and I think the sampler dude may have sung one song.

Reference point - maybe Garbage with male and female vocals. WLUW has played them in the past, so you may want to call WLUW and request 'em.

to me, this reads funny. i like it and might use this format to describe my relatives - if my sisters ever marry. . .um, people from another country, i guess.

anyway, i heard the assassins just before they signed with arista. a friend was really close to them and she sent me some of their stuff. i think an 80s meets radiohead description fits pretty well.
never saw them live though, so, can't comment there. i do know that tom whalley didn't like their live show much though.
