I heard Dangermouse produced the last Gorillaz album - that right? If so, damn! Don't sound like him; must be branching out.

I indeed managed to catch their performance. It was at first amazing, but when the camera would focus in for close-ups it was all blocky and kinda crude. medium and far away shots still looked freaking amazing however. And whenever the rapping of De La Soul came up they emerged from the darkness to rap live and would back into the shadows until needed again. It was cool, but i want to see them hone this craft much more before taking it on the road.

The fact that the Gorillaz won best group at the MTV Europe Awards was indeed surreal as well. Jaimie Hewlett the animator/collaborator chuckled in front of the crowd in Lisbon and said something like "and to think, the best group doesn't even exist." - Freaking brilliant that!
