Was wondering if anyone had read any of these.

Also looking for Paul Anderson's The Broken Sword which is apparently like Tolkien but better (so Michael Moorcock says anyway). Also eyeing up titles like China Mieville's Perdido Street Station and the like. Maybe some Terry Pratchett.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Interesting site Sketchy! From the elist of authors, it appears that if you're into that genre, you can't go wrong with anything there.

Yeah, I've read a few of them here's the list...
This is one of my all-time fav's: A Canticle for Leibowitz
Flowers for Algernon- Classic! read in what 7th-8th grade?
The Invisible Man-Classic! read in what 7th-8th grade?

I was just talking to someone about Pratchett. They suggested it was a good read.

If there is one book on I would reccommend it's Canticle!

Cool... will have to look those up. Just got back from the library. Picked up Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, David Eddings' Rivan Codex (recommended by nwnwiki), and a Jonathan Carrol's The Wooden Sea (looking for another one of his, but this one jumped out at me... literally).

Picked up the full set of the Chronicles of Narnia at Costco the other day... need to read soon. btw, would highly recommend the movie "Shadowlands," which is based on C.S. Lewis and his relationship with Joy Davidman and her son Douglas Gresham.

Have seen most of "Shadowlands" but not the whole thing in one sitting. Hopkins and Debra Winger make a bizarre combo, but it really worked.

I''ve read Ringworld, The Invisible Man, A Scanner Darkly, The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep?, I Am Legend, Dune, Time And Again, and The Hour of the Dragon.

I'd recommend them all. Favorite: A Scanner Darkly. Least Favorite: probably Dune, though it starts really strong.
