1. OOIOO - Moss Trumpeter - The mix starts on a suspicious start as I do not like this song. The horn riff seems a little like an 80's tv drama theme superimposed on chorus from the Animal Collective ( I've never listened to them but I think that's what they would sound like). Rating - 3

2. Caetano Veloso 13 De Maio - Now this is the song I wish would have opened the mix. Great laid back latin tune and I love the singer's delivery. Could defnitely barbeque and enjoy the shit out of this. Rating - 7

3. Akron/ Family - Lumen - I was set to give this song a bad rating as I never liked it, but I'm listening to it now as I type and I'm liking it. So this gets slow grower status. Some of it still irks me especially some of the vocals which seem a little over the top. However, I like building of the song and how it makes you think a climax is coming and holds off to the end. Rating - 6

4. Iron & Wine - Everything on the Ground - Great song. One of the best of the mix. Love everything about, and there is definitely something empowering about it.- 9

5. Manuel Mirabal - Me Bote De Guano - This is kind of meh for me. Can take it or leave it. Seems like typical latin dance stuff, and it fails to make an impact on me. - 4

6. Belle & Sebastian - Dog On Wheels - One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. I was really excitted to see it on the tracklisting. B&S have some really strong songs and I can't think of any finer than this one. Great melody and lyrics. - 10

7. Vetiver - Save Me A Place - As a Banhart fan I've been looking forward to hearing some Vetiver. If I came to this song looking for some interesting freak folk, I would be massively dissappointed. With an open mind, it's a hell of song. Reminds me of Neil Young. - 7

8. Caribou - Lord Leopard - The mix veers in the wrong direction for me here. This is exactly the kind of music I don't like. Some beats and a repetitive sample, and not much else. I never see how this stuff impresses people - 1

9. TV on the Radio - New Health Rock - Their album dissappointed me when compared to the EP. I like this song though. It's fun and a good song to drive to. Would make a great car commerical - 6

10. The Mountain Goats - Magpie - A great surprise on this mix. The Mountain Goats seemed like something I would like. Previous listenings have left me dissappointed. This song doesn't . I love it and I will reevaluate them. It's everything that's great music. Good melody and it makes you feel - 8

11. The Russian Futurists - Sentiments Vs. Syllables - After rebounding with good tunes from Caribou, the mix lulls a little bit. Not a great song in my opinion . Their take on the 80's seems a little less interesting than other bands out there right now. - 3

12. Six Organs of Admittance - I don't like the opening of this song, but once it wastes one minute and a half of my life it turns into a very peaceful prayer type song. Loses points for opening, but still - 6

13. M. Ward - Radio Campaign - I really like M. Ward and the new one. Good song from a very solid album that I always forget about. Glad it's here. - 7

14. Holopaw - Curious - I loved their debut. This song is just okay. Nothing really notable about this, If it's on my mind usually drifts away to something else, and had to relisten to it a bunch just to remember it - 5

15. Antony & the Johnsons - Hope There 's Someone - I thought I would hate this, but I don't . Something about it connects when I thought it would put me off. Don't know if I could handle the voice for a whole album, but it works well on the mix and fits nicely with the other songs. - 7.5

16. The Real Tuesday Weld - Am I in Love? - Nice little ditty that mixes well with the other songs. Understated in a good way. - 6

17. Calexico/ Iron & Wine A History of Lovers- Two great bands that work well together. One of their strongest songs. - 8

18. The Robot Ate Me - Oh My! Oh My!- Th mix is really hitting it stride at the end of the mix. Another great song. Reminds me of a nice sunday afternoon. 7

19. Langhorne Slim - In the Midnight - Good fun song.6

20 P:Ano - Ghost Pirates - Okay song , but nothing that bowls me over - 5

21. Enon - Grain of Assault / Genie's Got Her Bag - I'm not the hugest Enon fan and this doesn't change that for me. The mix kind of tapers off from some really strong songs but it's hard to follow those songs - 5

Overall: I really enjoyed it and play it alot at work. Some great songs with a nice flow to it. Most of the songs are of the slower and more quiet variety but not boring, and I like that. Good job OPA. overall - 7.

I tried to find somebody of that sort that I could like that nobody else did - because everybody would adopt his group, and his group would be _it_; someone weird like Captain Beefheart. It's no different now - people trying to outdo ! each other in extremes. There are people who like X, and there are people who say X are wimps; they like Black Flag.

Wow, thanks. That was fun to read. I know how time consuming these are so I appreciate it even more.

Another reason why I love these reviews - you get a better idea of what people's tastes are.

Thanks again.
