- on friday, november 11th at 11:35pm gmt, sigur rós will perform on the bbc music show "later with jools holland". they will play hoppípolla and me<eth> bló<eth>nasir in succession, accompanied by amina and an eight-piece brass section. sigur rós will be joined by the likes of velvet underground's john cale, sheryl crow and carlos santana on the show. we will do our best to provide you with a video of the performance for the non-british fans, which will either appear on the news page or message board.
- in other tv appearance news, sigur rós have agreed to perform on "late night with conan o'brien" february 8th 2006. being a huge fan of conan and his unique sense of humour, this is extremely exciting news for me (björn). honestly, he's become one of the best entertainers we've ever had on television, and i'm thrilled that sigur rós agreed to appear on his show. woo!

- sigur rós will release hoppípolla, the first cd single off 'takk...', on november 28th. bonus tracks on the single are me<eth> bló<eth>nasir plus the highly anticipated studio version of the much-beloved live rendition of hafssól (yes, the drumstick-on-bass song). a video for hoppípolla has been shot in iceland and is currently being edited. keep an eye out for the video on the site in the coming weeks.
