Well, I am. Stuck at work for 8 hours with NOTHING to do, just like yesterday, and probably like tomorrow. "In-between" projects = downtime with little to do. I've hit all the websites I can think of, and you people just aren't producing enough topical crap for me to read. Please, then, entertain me in a SFW way.

i hate work right now. I did a presentation this morning for all the euro and americas HR managers in the entire company up to the VP level - this one VP (the highest level guy on the call) basically tore the entire thing apart - just in time for me to change the whole thing and present it again at 4pm for the asia region.

i need a drink

YES. One would think Katrina would have spiked the non-profit world in S. Louisiana, but it actually had the opposite effect. So much funding has been cut from so many places, and so many things are not operational that it has slowed us down tremendously. It should pick up in December. At least I hope.

Usually the case is this - that I have plenty of work to do but am bored of it, and therefore I find something distracting online. But today I actually have nothing to do and have therefore already exhausted my cache of online entertainment possibilities, and my coworkers are all actually working (hopefully on stuff for me to do soon) which leaves little to distract me.

Seriously, when you have a day or several days with nothing to do, why can't companies just say "Go home, take it easy, but stay by your phone and we'll call you if something comes up"? Am I not wasting electricity by sitting at work doing nothing productive? This isn't selfish - I want to help my company, first and foremost, of course.
