This episode actually aired last week but I just got around to watching it on Friday night.

I think "Mr Brightsides" is a great pop single and they have a couple other decent tracks, but Jesus!----The Killers are a really shitty live band. That dude can't sing. Big ups to who ever produced their album.

The Spoon performance was from the ACL Fest (or whatever its called) I believe (though it must have been culled from two shows b/c I noticed Brett was wearing two different outfits) and was pretty damn good. Those dudes are just a really slick, tight live band. Good stuff.

God bless the season pass deal on the DVR because I always forget to watch Austin City Limits and have missed some good stuff over the years.

I fast forwarded through the Killers, but the Spoon performance was good. Kind of wished they'd showed more older songs though. They only aired one song not from the new album.

Was this that thing on PBS or whatever? I saw something about it, and I really wanted to watch it, but then I totally forgot.

I know there is another thread re: Spoon on ACL but it didn't mention The Killers hence the bump. I thought they were really boring, way more so than Spoon (who I still love regardless of their lackluster performance on ACL).

Anyway, I was really irritated when The Killers brought the choir singers out at the end to sing the same line over and over again...is that on the recording or something? It just felt so icky to me -- like how I feel when I watch tribute or awards shows and they bring out every crusty old artist to get up on stage at the end to perform together and it always sounds like shit and there is always some diva wailing "yeah yeah yeah" and all the brilliant guitarists stand there and look at each other like they are waiting in line to do their solo. Ugh...those are just painful to watch.
