No sympathy. It fucking kills me when people turn and start walking without looking around. There they are looking at toothpaste on an endcap in Wal-Mart and they just spin around and roll as if there couldn't possibly be anyone near them. Hate those people.

Those people drive me batty, too. I call 'em the "I'm The Only Person On Earth" people.

A cousin to the "Only People" are the people who walk with no intended destination, usually meandering forward but also drifting from side to side by a about six feet. By god, I may not know where my trip ends, but I know where my next ten steps are likely to lead me.

I'd definitely include them in the "I.T.O.P.O.E." group. Sometimes I don't get out of their way, just to see if they walk into me. You be amazed at how close some people come before they pull their head outta their ass.

Was that a Wal Mart in the video? It looked like one. I bet that lady got very rich off of that fall.

good for her!

i'm with you on those oblivious people, guys. i hate when people just stop in a doorway, like the reason for being of a doorway isn't to let things pass through.

Fair enough. When do we start loading them up and shipping them off to internment camps?

Let's not forget those who try to hurry on to the elevator before those inside get out.

!!!!! The first time I saw this I was just stunned. How in the world...

And something earlier- I'm a fast walker and a STRAIGHT walker, so I'm often passing people on the street. But then I'm behind that person the meanders and weaves and bobs and Graaahh!@#@#$!@$

I'll add one to the group - Subway riders, that start up the steps at a good pace, and then start to slow down as they reach street level, eventually coming to a complete stop right at street level, there by blocking the exit, to catch their breath and figure out where they are, and where they are heading, as if there is no one behind them trying to get out of the stairwell.

Note to these people - Take two more steps, one forward, one to the side, and then you can sit and try to focus your helpless mind all you want.

Other people in the I.T.O.P.O.E. club:

- most people who shop at Costco or Sam's Club-- you'd swear these people have never used a shopping cart before.
- people in cars who stop in non-stop areas, leaning forward, looking both ways, with their index finger on their lip or chin, as they try their hardest to figure out where they need to go (unfortunately, I see more women do this than men, but both sexes are guilty).

I totally agree. Or the riders who get off the train and stop right in front of the door and look to the right and then to the left, while you're still stuck in the train trying to get out.

well I can see how its an issue on a crowded train.

Lets hate on some more people - I especially love being behind The Friends Float, in The Slow Parade - this is when a group of companions create an unpenetrable blockade across the entire sidewalk by walking side by side, elbow to elbow. Im so glad you all want to walk in step, but other people want to get through! I dont want to be part of the slow parade!

We've all been a part of these blockades of friends, but at least be aware when others are trying to pass, and make some room.

ok, someone else, hate on someone else.

I got one.

I hate the prick who wrote 'dameg' on a bag of pretzels and then put it back on the shelf. I also hate myself for buying them and not noticing the word 'dameg' until I was a half-hour into them.

this reminds me of a few years ago, going to niagara falls en route to toronto with my mother. she stopped the car in the middle of the road to point at the waterfall. i'm serious. i can maybe understand stopping to talk to someone on a sidewalk as long as it's quick, but couldn't you still drive while pointing? i never understood that moment.
