it's not bad.

better than i remember/thought it would be.

all the songs sound like the stones, albiet with a slight late 80's sheen (which is better than a mid 80's sheen)

well, there you go

Bloor hooked me up with this after not hearing it for nearly 15 years and I thought the same thing. Way, way better than I remembered it and I knew every song too.

Y'all have restored my faith in humanity.

I actually listened to it a few weeks ago in my "pre Stones show--must listen to every album" deal----to wit: it is actually a really kickass album.

This is the song I was gonna refer to, as well. Love that tune.

I haven't heard that album in forever, but I remember thinking the tune where Keef sings about having to "chill" ( the title's something like "Can't Be Seen"? ) was catchy & funny, too.

Since the new record came out, I've noticed a creeping revisionism on this board and elsewhere of the last 25 years of the Stones' work.

Albums that were universally savaged upon release are not being accepted more readily as part of the canon. I can't really comment either way, but I find this phenomenon interesting.

I've noticed this as well. Perhaps those of us in the present are too removed from the heyday of the Stones to remember what a good era the other records were?

I still remember the review of it that was in our high school newspaper.

The Stones are good for at least one GREAT song on each album. Even Dirty Work has One Hit to the Body.

I still remember when this came out (pre-Stones freak days) and singing "Stuck between my cock, and your mom's face" for 'Rock and a Hard Place"

i don't think anyone is implying that these in the same world as those.
but they aren't as bad as people say they are, and if you get past the production you an often find some great songs.
