yeah, i found this to be a HUGE annoyance. are you using a mac? if you are i know of a applescript that will do this.

There could be extra spaces in the names or album name.
Do the tracks have a leading zero? Like 07, 08, 09, instead of 7, 8, 9? (where it would put 11 before 2, but it should be 02 before 11)

Thanks... running it on the entire library now. I can't tell you how many albums I have out of sequence.

I find the easiest way to keep shit correct with iTunes is to do all your file renaming from within iTunes. If I want to change the name/track #/whatever of a song, I "right-click" it in iTunes and use the "get info" option, then change whatever I want to in there. iTunes then renames the file or whatever to pu it in its right place.

You might have to use the "keep itunes folder organized" function to have this work.
