How about doing Sly Stone?

The man has had a brilliant career, and then dissappeared into a fog of addiction and obscurity (although the music will always live on).

Someone needs to get a hold of this guy and get his story out there. It would be interesting, methinks. And the music would NOT be able to be beat!

Edit for Possible titles:
Everyday People
SLY: Hiss Elf
There's a Riot Goin' On: The Sly Stone Story

Not so much a biopic, but this could be a template for the next "I'm With Busey."

I'd suggest two:

George Jones

Manu Chao, if only for the Mano Negra train tour of Columbia aided by guerrilla soldiers.

Ditto for Ronald Jones (Flaming Lips lead guitar, early to mid nineties).

I think a Lee Hazelwood pic could be interesting, as well.

No. they'd fuck it up and put Colin Farrel or someone in it, when really it should be Eugene Hutz.

I'm not familiar with Lee Hazelwood's story, although I like the songs I have heard.
Ritchie of Manic Street Preachers and Syd Barrett would be cool, so would a well funded Brian Wilson movie.

Although all still living and doing music, I'd like to see a true Iggy Pop, Lou Reed and maybe a Willie Nelson or a Bob Dylan film.
Gary Glitter or Elliot Smith would probably make for a great VH1 style movie.

I think Lou Reed and Willie could be great.

I really hope they filmed that tour, what an amazing story.

Ditto...

Can't wait for "The Gary Busey story" starring Jake Busey, though...

And I can't believe no one has brought up Screamin' Jay or Blowfly yet...

You're in LA right? Are you going to see Blowfly next month at the Knitting Factory? I don't have tix yet but am likely to go.
