The last Stars album was pretty good, if not a bit cheesy. Lots of solid melodies and tunes, but sometimes the synths were a little over-the-top for me. Not to mention the record was called Heart and was all about love. This new one sounds a little darker though.

I don't know. I liked a couple tracks from 'Heart', and I pretty much adore broken social scene, apostle of hustle, and Arts&Crafts so I'll probably dig it...except the part of them stealing EITS's album cover.

I had the same thought when I saw Pitchfork today. After reading the review, I promptly added this CD to my Christmas list along with Apostle of Hustle (based on lobster's recommendation).

I think you'll enjoy it quite abit. It's my holdover album until BSS's spring 2005 release.

i also thought the same thing when i saw pitchfork this morning. i d/l this from ss a while ago, but haven't had a chance to listen yet.

i also d/l apostle of hustle yesterday based on the lobster's rec. i'm looking forward to that one.
