Our kitten(who is a very very curious boy cat that's one, but has never seen a tree til now) has been casing the tree off and on tonight.

I'm curious to see if it will knock it over or if we'll get lucky and it stays up all Xmas.

you forgot the "he'll knock it over on top of himself and have to be taken to the vet" option.

Hi-larious as we are thinking the exact same thing about our newly acquired kitty. I say, at the least, he'll try to climb it.

On a similar note, a Christmas once fell on me, but its fall was not caused by a bad kitty.

My music-related posts almost got bumped off the page for this?

Thanks a lot.

Simply answer is yes it will knock the Chrismtas tree over, but only after it's pawed all the bobbles off it.

When I was a kid, my cat Silver went to town on the little nativity scene we had under the tree. Bit off one of the wise men's head, gnawed on the baby Jesus....

had the same problem with our kitten last year. ended up putting kubbie in "timeout" for the majority of our time at home for going under/inside the tree.

this year he's been better, only whacking a few ornaments & stuff on occasion. thankfully.

Don't put any tinsel on the tree... kitty will be choking up a glittery fur ball.

So far so good.

Last night he made an attempt on the life of one of our ornaments, tried to rip it off the tree after batting at it for a while. He seems to know that it's not for messing with. We'll see how long this lasts.

When I was growing up we actually did have a cat that took a tree down. It was like something out of a Chevy Chase movie.

He lept onto the top of it(it was decorated of course) and the tree and the cat came down.
