None. I'm a blind disciple of Dr. Dean Edell. Not that he's anti-vitamin, he just says they aren't necessary.

I stopped taking vitamins in elementary school, but I miss them. The Flinstones vitamins were absolutely delicious.

Whatever is in the food that I am eating.
Although, my wife does foist chewable C on me a couple of times a week.
I'd rather just drink orange juice.

Funny story about vitamins I'll share with you all later.

Only vitamin I ever take is Vitamin V...but even that has slacked off.

My garndmother founded this organization:
http://www.nutrition4health.org/

And we owned a health food store.

So, let's just say that I took A LOT of chewable vitamins when I was a kid – and not Flinstones brand.

That, and there have been a non-negligible number of studies finding the negative aspects of vitamins to be quite serious, including increased risk of heart attack and cancer. One problem is due to the over concentration of vitamins in pill-form, when it is damn near impossible to get the same dosage from food.

Also, vitamins and other dietary supplements cannot be investigated by the FDA until after they are stocked on store shelves, so the effectiveness and safety of vitamins and dietary supplements go unchecked before being consumed by masses of people.

I find it interesting that often people who rail against the pharmaceutical companies and their "obscene" profits are willing to jump whole-hog into "natural" or "alternative" dietary supplements, which are a multi-billion dollar industry that isn't even regulated by the FDA. At least Merck has to prove that it's shit works and won't kill you.

I should have specified that I wasn't talking about megadoses of vitamins, but simply levels that are roughly equivalent to a healthy diet (say, a multivitamin and some Vitamin C). Show me convincing arguments about how "bad" taking a multivitamin is and I'll send you a check to go out and buy some bananas or the fruit of your choice.

Alright, let's see some links to said studies.

This is true, although I'm aware of both sides. Overdoping yourself with vitamins won't make you healthier, but a single MV daily is okay for those of us who typically don't have a balanced diet (mine is extremely low on fruits and vegegables). And even then, vitamins extracted from food are typically better for you than the supplemental type. But I'm not gonna start eating foods just because they're healthy. I fucking hate most vegetables.
