From what I've read, Comedy Central is pissed because of the gazillions they spent on marketing the third season, and this is a vindictive move on their part.

I'm surprised DC didn't work the deal so that he had ownership of the material.

i read an article today saying that chappelle's people are pissed, but i agree that comedy central should show the product that they have since it is their show.

Aside from the Wrap-It-Up and Nigger family sketches and not having cable, I didn't really get into this show. Why was it cancelled in the first place? All this bickering about money's starting to sound like a Latrell Spreewell episode.

It wasn't cancelled. According to Chappelle, he's become disenchanted with what he's written. In his view, the sketches no longer "send up" racism, but have become racist. That's his publically stated reason for walking away. If you buy this, then Comedy Central is doing him a huge disservice by running the stuff. What's worse, is they're running it, knowing full well that it is racist, or has been deemed racist by its creator.
