Nice rock/pop topic.

Last few years ive been watching the college basketball as we finally can get the college stuff over here & i hate all other sports. But i dont understand the tactics.

Ok what do guards guard. Is there only 2 defense tactics. Zone and man. man i get but zone is that take the nearest player or are there different variations? Centre, is he usually the big guy. fg attempts is that 3 point attempts.

whos your team?

Ive been following teams who have a player i like. 3 0r 4 years ago it was Kansas, then texas cos they had a guy called emmett then it was n.carolina. Not sure this year but i like jj redick but theres no way im supporting duke.

I apoligise if i sound like a right twat!

i follow the northwest teams. All I know is that Adam Morrison from Gonzaga is god - wiih the moustachio and everything.

Wife went to UNC so I get suckered into that as well.

there are a lot of different Zone schemes though. usually your guards are guarding an area or a passing lane and not the closest player.

I like WVU. Last year was magical for us 'neer fans. I also follow UCLA, and sorta kinda the Terps.

Zone defense, in basic terms, is a system where all 5 players are assigned a section on defense and they guard those player(s) that are in their zone. There are numerous variations on it and is useful, for example, against faster teams where man defense may be tricky.

And I used to know why they were called guards, but I can't seem to remember that right now. I'll have to look it up for you.

I'm a Washington alum, and therefore root for the Dawgs. They've got a pretty good team again this year---they beat Adam "The God" Morrison and the Zags last night in a close game. I think that stash has got to go.

I expect them to lose a few more games this year compared to last, as they're starting two freshman, but should still compete for a Pac-10 title.

Love college hoops.

Terps will be on Comcast Sportsnet according to UMD's website, don't know if you get that out in the hills E.

Actually, you might want to try http:/www.wbal.com if all else fails.

Definitely no D. Morrison was hitting from everywhere.

Those are often the most fun games to watch.

no professional team but the high school teams are the northampton blue devils. wanna do a t-shirt trade?
smith college is here and they have a kickass rugby team (duh).

BUT
i just turned the tv on and right before my eyes is christian laettner with that '92 buzzer beater. my blood pressure just rose 300 points.

Illini's me number one.
terps are two.
lots of fun teams to watch after with the exception of those "dukies."

no games for me tonight except connecticut women's tream playing godknowswho and...yawn....i think i'll wash my hair.
