so, as a non-American, i have no idea what this show is about, or who this guy is, despite watching around 5 episodes in the last couple of weeks. Can someone please explain it to me? I'm assuming he's some kind of ex-singer/actor/wrestler or something along those lines? Why does he take everything to the extreme and then talk about it as if it were nothing? I'm confused.

He was Danny on The Partridge Family and then a successful DJ.

I love this show.

He was a former child actor/musician from the Partridge Family who turned into a drug addicted freak...I think he even got arrested once for beating up a transvestite in an argument over some heroin.

There's no plot to the show..just watching a train wreck of a human being...pure voyeurism.

My favorite line is when in the intro he says "I take so many pills I get full."

I like the show because it tackles complex issues head-on instead of turning them into cutesy reality show melodramas.

Plus Bonaduce is far more interesting a case study then a lot of the twerps that come and go from reality shows.

I seriously keep waiting for him to just off himself on camera. Personally I think he's a gigantic douchebag and forever stuck as Danny Partridge.

Quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen on television was when he broke the coffee mug over his head.

and for reality tv, mtv also had a road rules cast eat blended bull cock, vomit a-flyin', even on other cast member's plates. (they had plates of equally-disgusting food, washed down with the shnizzle pizzle.)

I haven't watched this show yet... is it really that good? I always hated Danny on the Partridge Family. But then again, I guess all the Partridges were pretty annoying in their own ways.

Danny said he just did it for the bucks, saw it as another gig. So the performer in him (especially the shock jock) apparently compelled him to do crazy/destructive stuff to deliver what he thought the producers wanted to see. It's an interesting reality show in that it finds a spot between totally staged, e.g., The Princes Of Malibu, and too real, i.e., boring. Danny plays to the camera but he really is crazy and that creates the odd feel to the program.
