so i know some of you hate them and some of you might like them. well, whatever. i went to see them last night, and let me just say: :rawk: shit had me dancing all night. pardon if this review doesn't make much sense, i'm slightly hungover.

i missed the first opening band but the next one, paradise boys, they were a good opening act for the rapture. based out of sf, they are described as "art damaged disco-punk that will mess you up and make you dance." true.

so when the rapture came on, they opened up with out of the races, and their energy on stage was great. it was awesome to see them at a small venue like the troubadour. of course, they played all the singles, house of jealous lovers, sister saviour, etc. but they also played some new material (which was a pleasant surprise, i didn't know they were coming out with a new release soon), which i'm looking forward to. a little less screeching (i don't know how the hell they sing the way they do, but then again, i tend to like overdone vocals and beats that make me want to dance), beats sounded more melodic and structured, definitely groovy for the dancefloor... i think for those of you who like this type of music, you will be pleased.

just sayin.'

while surprisingly I like the Rapture, it's descriptions like this that prevent me from telling people about it. Glad the show was great, though.
