I bought her this sweet camera lense, then I decided it wasn't very romantic and such, so I am going to give it to her from the kids. Now I need to come up with something else. Help!

(No vibraters or shit like that Dalen.)

My wife has a lot of appliances...

Electric dishwasher
Electric hair dryer
Electric washing machine
Electric curling iron

With all of these electric appliances, she doesn't have anyplace to sit down.

So this year, I'm buying her an electric chair.

Jewelry IF you know what she likes... don't get all crazy picking out gemstones or metals that you don't know if she likes or not. If she's like me, she's particular about what she wears.

a gift certificate for a massage/spa day

a weekend away with just you two (kids stay with relatives)-- just make sure you do it!

a gift card to Banana Republic... oh, ok, now we're just talking about what I'd want... ;)

edit: expensive lingerie might be nice too, and you'll benefit as well!

me and the dr. both decided to get a joint gift to each other since we couldn't figure out what to get each other. and we both don't really want anything. she did say though that she wants a yule log, which I've never had but I guess is a giant ho-ho.

Somebody mentioned it before, but the whole "coupon book" thing, where you make it yourself containing coupons for things like "Good for 30 minute massage", or "Car Wash", "Breakfast in Bed".....

You get the idea.

dude, i'd never diss you like that.

Does she have a favorite restaurant? If so, get her a gift certificate. Make it special by writing her a little note, stating that it's like a future date, and that you want to spend time with her. Time alone, away from the kids, is probably rare, so this can be a special event.

a spa day is perfect as well like D said. time for her to relax, and just enjoy herself.

whatever the gift is, make it very personal.

Ryan, I don't think that is what she means when she says she wants a yule log.

Dalen, (like an idiot) I already gave a bunch of other ideas that I had to my family, which included gift certificates to a restaurant she has been wanting to go to for years.

Dana. Lingerie is not a good gift, as it is obviously more for me to enjoy her in it and then out of it than it is a gift for her. I would get her jewelry as she likes it, doesn't have much, and never gets it, but she never wears it when she does have some, except for special occasions as the kids tend to rip it off her. I know she wouldn't go for a weekend away, since the littlest is not even 3 months old and she plans to breastfeed for a year. so we can't be away that long.

Chase, I got her bath goods last year and don't want to be repetitive, that might seem not as thoughtful.

(P.S. her taste on clothes is so particular, that I will never buy her clothing again after the leather jacket fiasco of 2001.)

get her a signed poster, or some gawdy jewelry, or a pet clown costume for your dog.

well, tim, you asked for suggestions and we gave 'em. Since none of us really know your wife the way you do, it's hard to offer more specific suggestions.

I think you are on to something.

I'm thinking something athletic, she loves to work out. She has been talking about getting an mp3 player. (not that she would kow how to use it)

If her ears are pierced some diamond stud earring are something she can wear that the kids can't rip out.

Or some studs that are her birthday gemstone.

Or just some studs to entertain her when she needs some adult conversation.

Also you can order a "flowers every month" for a gift that keeps on giving
