Funny, this sounds "clean" to me -- they do it live and it kills.

I also think that they have Shonna too high in the mix on this, and too low/not a big enough part of the recording of "Rebels," which after all originated as a duet between Petty and DOGB Nicks.

Bloor and I were talking about it this weekend, and "George Jones" could have replaced a number of cuts on the last album...I think "The Opening Act," he thinks "You and Your Crystal Meth"

TVA is probably my favorite on here, and exemplifies what the band adds to Isbell and what Isbell adds to the band.

Surprised there's not "People Who Died" on this.

I could do without either one...Crystal Meth is barely even a song, Opening just flat out SUCKS.

Oh, and Bloor won the comments section with "Now we know that BOTH versions of Goode Field Road suck"

I think The Opening Act is one of the best on that album. Goode's Field Road is boring as shit (the one on The Fine Print is slightly better) and I despise Daddy Needs a Drink.

Also, I convinced myself for a while that I liked Shonna's songs but now I cringe whenever I let I'm Sorry Huston run for more than fifteen seconds without hitting the skip button.

She is A) a waterhead and B) an epic DOGB

Oh, I think she adds something, but I bet she has trouble tying her shoes, but no trouble with 3 dudes at a time.

I actually agree with DDR and Bloor on something. "Opening Act" is a great tune.

Because it's recorded material culled from their 2003 - 2008 New West period. They've been playing it since at least '99 when it appeared on Alabama Ass Whuppin'.

"The Opening Act" is by far my favorite track off Creation's Dark. "You & Your Crystal Meth" however, I can do without.
