I'm game, though I might need some help with the financing.

Also, so far:

Ted Turner: not interested
Bernie Marcus: not interested
Arthur Blank: interested

What I'm wondering personally is how Time Warner can own a piece of the new Mets TV Network and still own the Braves? Then I wake up and remember that it's baseball. (and yes, I came up with this bit of insight on my own, not from Domino or some other source)

I wonder about their capability to make income. They're in a large market why, why is TW have issued with revenue? Their payroll has dropped over the last year and there must be reason why Time Warner is selling.

I'm not convinced that there is a lot of money (profit wise) in owning a sports franchise......

AOL/Time Warner is under a tremendous amount of pressure from stockholders to become more profitable---to wit, the stock has been pretty stagnant since the merger and the sports properties are going to naturally be the first to go....See also: The selling of the Hawks/Thrahers/Phillips Arena.

And I've hated this shit anyways: I like to be able to call out a specific owner, not AOL/Time Warner---that's like complaining to George Bush about my street needing paving.

The Braves would be a steal at the same price tag as the Washington Nationals. They have a national tv deal similar to the Cubs, are always a contender.
The only reason Time-Warner is selling them is due to the lack of success that Time-Warner and AOL have had in the industries they were actually created to thrive in. CNN ain't what it used to be and most people with any sort of cash and tech abilities avoids AOL like the plague. Their disc are more popular with teens who use them as frisbees than as an internet provider.
I hate the Braves and would buy them if I had the chance.

But, if Obner's collective membership bought the franchise, the phrase "Atlanta" before the mascot name would have to change to another A - "Arcade Fire".

(No offense to the garchipelago, of course.)

Further, doing so could allow the team to play a limited "bonus" schedule (say, twenty-one games of eighty; and, hey, Atlantans don't go to first-round playoff games, let alone regular season outings, so, no harm, no foul) in Montreal.

Hey Philly boys: I just heard some shit about Comcast having some interest in this deal.

I'm not too excited about another corporation owning the team, but it does seem like Comcast has some interest in sports properties (see also: their NHL deal with OLN) plus they already run a sports channel down here like the one yall have up there so im guessing Turner South would be a sweet tie in for them.

Also, my $2,345 to these bastards every month should be a good start

I am praying Arthur Blank buys the team.
