Anyone a fan of these collaborations on the Netherlands label Konkurrent? I only have a couple of them but they are both very good. My first exposure was the amazing Low + Dirty Three a few years ago but I recently popped for a copy of the Black Heart Procession + Solbakken one they did a coupl years ago and have been listening to it a ton. Just love it. Even mentioned it in the recent Current Obsessions thread. Pretty much a BHP project, and with a sound not too different from some of the things on Amore del Tropico like "Why I Stay", but there's a few things that are definitely different, like a Swiss woman named Rachael trading verses with Pall on the opener. Shades of Pink Floyd at times. Very cool.

Anyone heard the latest one with Solex? Anyone else besides me think that "Low Kick and Hard Bop" is a minor classic? No? Well, it is! ;)

These are the two I have as well, and I agree both are really good. I even put one of the BHP/Solbakken songs on one of my year end comps.

Who is Solex paired up with? That last Solex album didn't do much for me.

I never got the last Solex. She's paired with the Maarten Altena Ensemble (M.A.E.). http://www.konkurrent.nl/labels/fishtank.html

I have the Sonic Youth/the ex one, and the Low/Dirty Three as well. I have heard the BHP one. I can't remember which one I saw last night at borders but they were solo on the record, which I thought was odd since I thought the whole point was to match up bands.

I've got the Low/Dirty Three and the Willard Grant Conspiracy/Telefunk one. Both are good.

Hey Tania, been here and there. Had to go out for some beer. Long drive. But I'm around now and then. You seem pretty well.

Just got back from a run and the rain is moving in right now. Got hit with a little, but not much. Big drops. Like soft bullets. Kind of fun. Can't stop listening to Wishful Thinking rght now. I only picked up a copy of A Ghost Is Born just recently, but love it completely, already. Destined to be my favorite Wilco, I think. Too early to tell ...

Fill up your mind with all it can know
Don't forget that your body will let it all go
Fill up your mind with all it can know
'Cause what would love be without wishful thinking

Yeah, I've been curious about the WGC one cause I'm a huge fan. What's that like? Is it similar to any of their abums?
