Not sure if there are any other Don Caballero fans on the boards here but...

DON CABALLERO SIGN TO RELAPSE RECORDS --- 12/12/2005 << back to news list
Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of seminal instrumental super-rock outfit DON CABALLERO.

The Pittsburgh-based band is currently recording their as-yet-untitled Relapse debut full-length with longtime producer Al Sutton (THE LAUGHING HYENAS, BIG CHIEF) at Sutton's Rustbelt Studios in Detroit, MI. Some early track titles include "World Class Listening Problem", "And And And, He Lowered the Twin Down", "Palm Trees in the F**king Bahamas", and "Theme From Bricktop Clowns". A release date is still tba.

DON CABALLERO, which is spearheaded by founder and drummer extraordinaire Damon Che, has expanded to a four piece and also includes CRETA BOURZIA guitarist and bassist Jeff Ellsworth and Jason Jouver as well as guitarist Gene Doyle. This lineup has completed several North American tours in recent years and the forthcoming record will be the unit's first recorded work together.

DON CABALLERO has previously released four critically-acclaimed and highly influential full-length recordings as well as an extensive singles collection via its previous label Touch and Go Records.

Stay tuned to www.RELAPSE.com for forthcoming DON CABALLERO news / tour information.

It's not the "real" Don Cab without Ian Williams (as far as I'm concerned).

Edit: Of course I'll still give it a listen, but I'm not expecting much.

Double Edit: Relapse? WTF? Not that that's necessarily bad or good, just...unexpected

that's why I thought it was interesting. Such an odd label choice. I'll check it out. We'll see though.

Agreed.

Che shouldn't be allowed to use the name.
