Shift+Command+4 will give you crosshairs, then select what you want to take a picture of. Shift+Command+3 does the whole screen, I think. Look on your hard drive, there will be a file called "Picture 01" or whatever number is in sequence. That's it.

Pressing the apple key, shift and 3 will take a screen shot and save it as a .tif on your desktop.
