Has anyone ever been through a "Meet & Greet" session with a company you're interested in working at? It doesn't appear to be an official interview, but they intend to get to know me, my interests, and for me to get to know Company X.

I've never even been through an interview session before since I've worked at the family business my whole life, so I'm a little nervous about this, even if it appears to be less formal. I know you're supposed to dress nice, browse their web site and generally not be an idiot, but if anyone has been through one of these "Meet & Greet" sessions before, any advice would be nice!

Sounds terrifying. Though I've been lamenting the inability to meet people at work (or, better, through work) in my line of work, particularly of the opposite sex and even remotely near my age.

I wenty on a job interrview bout a year ago, and after my intial intverview with HR, they took me around and I spent 10 minutes with the head of each department, talking bout very non intervew-esque type stuff. Kind of interesting. Got a feel of the different people there, and they got to see the potential fellow employee.

Just wash your hands if they get sweaty.

Safe: don't say anything. Just nod a lot, smile, and say, "oh really?"

Thanks for the advice and comments.

The session went really well. I wasn't even shaking as I normally do when meeting new people.

I shake when i'm around people I really hate. They make me so angry that my body really begins to shake.

I only passionately dislike one person, by the way.

I'm very glad things went well. I hope things continue to go well with this.
i'm sure they will.
