I like a lot of this guy's piano instrumentals that seem to pop up on movie soundtracks everywhere. Anyone know if his albums are worth listening to?

He has good collaborators (like Paul from The Blue Nile) and what I've heard is high quality mood music, but he's in the same league as Chris Botti -- someone I WANT to like a lot because they're talented and have played great parts on well-liked artists' albums, but actually only like a little because their solo music is so "pleasant" instead of truly ambient.

Both are very good at what they do, but they're mannered and pretty in the execution. Maybe if I owned an Armstrong album and heard it more I'd think differently. But I've just heard pieces here and there.
