Devics are vocalist Sara Lov and multi-instrumentalist and sometime singer Dustin O'Halloran, a musical duo from Los Angeles who found a home in Italy after signing to Bella Union records in the late 90s.

Devics returned to LA in 2004 to complete work on their third album entitled "Push the Heart".

“Lie to Me,” a charming platform for O’Halloran’s cascading pianos and Lov’s yearning vocals, calling out over a ghost town of disembodied whistles and funereal organ.

First of all, I love the Devics. I don't usually listen to slowcore, but they are one of the few exceptions. Should be mentioned in the wrist-slitting thread.

Second -- minor quibble, I believe they already have three albums out: If You Forget Me..., My Beautiful Sinking Ship, and The Stars at Saint Andrea. All of which I have and are wonderful.

EDIT: Upon further examination, they also have a first self-released release, Buxom, which I don't have. I need to find their current Distant Radio EP.

I saw The Devics supporting Lift To Experience way back in 2001.

I thought they were pretty boring it has to be said but then I was anxious to see the 'The Texas/Jerusalem Crossroads' performed, live, before me and in the flesh.

No, I just found out about it when researching/googling to make sure I had the titles right. They are a "blank check" band with me, so I will get it unheard.
