So Sean Taylor spits in a dudes face this weekend (can you tell that I'm using PTI to catch up on two weeks worth of missed sports?) and gets fined $17k by the league for it. if i was joe gibbs with the cachet that comes with being joe gibbs i'd have beaten that ass and STILL been pissed. why don't you ever hear of teams disciplining their own players? is there a rule with the union or an agreement that says that the league handles discipline or what? i don't understand why a lot of these sort of things, like the NBA dress code, aren't habdled internally.

I would guess Gibbs, as any other NFL coach, is more worried about winning than some douche bag like Talyor.

teams deal with things their own way.

for instance, when the TO became a big pain in the ass, the entire Eagles roster decided to stop playing for the rest of the year.

I gotta believe that Mr. Taylor and Mr. Arrington have or will soon be having an old-fashioned "discussion." That was disgraceful.

I don't think teams can do very much publically. Look at what Philly had to go through to ground TO. It went to arbitration, and it only went that far because Philly knew they were done with him.

Taylor is young, and hopefully can be straightened out by the leaders on the team. The Skins certainly aren't looking to sever ties with him--just whip his ass into shape.

Are you saying that Arrington is a leader on that team? He has a fine way of showing it.

No, he isnt, and I wouldnt be surprised (despite some fine play) if he isnt cut/traded (im not gonna lie and say i know what his contract status is, but I think that dude is the shit; its been pretty apparent though that joe gibbs would just assume have lavarg be cleaning out his chicken coop. i mean...he didnt even play the guy for a few games and is now only doing so because you cant deny the talent (and the cap #)

that being said there seems to be an affinity for Sean Taylor with Gibbs and the 'Skins and btw...fuck Michael Pittman (THOUGh....that dude cut up, yo!), he is one fucked up ass wife beater who probably needed a spit-down-----plus, I was watching that game (on a fine 46" Panasonic HDTV no less) and didnt really see any spit. This wasnt (to parrot a lot of media people) a Romo-JJ Stokes situation.

He should probly be suspended or at least reprimanded by the organization but I think we should all consider the possibility here that they scared 'cause ST a REAL street nigga.

The NFL would have came down hard if this was week 7 of the season.

But we're in the playoffs and the NFL brass has no balls in this type of situation... at the very least, he should have lost the equivalent of his game check against the Bucs.

I can't see any spit in any of the footage that I've seen, either. I'm certainly not saying that he didn't do it, it just wasn't a big fat Loog. Now a big fat Loog is certainly worth a full game check. A gentle mist? I probably would've gone 50k.

I haven't seen any footage, I was stuck driving cross country trying to keep the game tuned in on AM radio. From what the Westwood announcers said, the spit seemed apparent.

Pittman is dirty and sleaze, but Gibbs and Williams are good enough coaches that their players shouldn't lose their cool. It's not like they didn't know Taylor was thug when he came in, all the more reasong to pay closer attention.

I never understood dumb shit like this in football. For god's sake there are a thousand easy cheapshots at your disposal.

It's usually retalliation for one or more of those cheap shots. In hockey you can drop the gloves and pound on each other, no outlet like that in football.

Best part about that was TJ's reaction on Primetime:

"If I'm JJ Stokes, we fight on the field. Then I am waiting for him outside the locker room, and we fightin again. Next time our teams play, I get thrown out on the first play of the game for starting a fight with him."

Never seen that dude get that buck, but it gave me a good idea of what went down in them 70s Broncos locker rooms.

(And it starts with an R)

The only problem with that is that JJ Stokes aint no Tom Jackson----Romo would have kicked his ass up and down the field through the tunnel and into the parking lot. DUDE SHATTERED THE EYESOCKET OF A TEAMMATE IN PRACTICE.

Its kinda like the TO/McNabb thing. Sure Donovan should have stepped to TO, but TO would have whipped him like he did Hugh Douglas. Best to not fuck with crazy people sometimes methinks.
