seeing the painting on the front page of that website makes me think i did know this guys work, but had never seen his paintings of nature which are awesome.

Although personally I prefer the excellent The Sea and the Bells that followed. Very dark and dramatic.

i see a Klimt influence in some of his early work.

yeah, some klimt.
schiele's work is so much more in an expressionist vein.
especially his figure work.

some of their drawings and studies are practically indistingushable.
Personally I love Koloman Moser.
