No problem, but how's about an entirely different tip? Let's say you want to post a link
that's way to long and unwieldy to fit across the standard Obner page - oh, something
like the All Music link to Youth Group's Skeleton Jar - and the link looks like this:
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... u67ur040j0
And now nobody can read this entire thread without being forced to scroll across the page.
Well, you can correct that small faux pas. For the purposes of this lesson, let's substitute
that long link with the words "www. long unwieldy link.com", and let's also pretend you
want to change that name to something less cumbersome, like NEW SHORT LINK.
Merely type [url= as an intro, which notifies the computer the actual address of the link,
and then include the new, shorter name for the link that will appear in the post. So it'd
look like this:
NEW SHORT LINK
Thus, your link to the Youth Group's Skeleton Jar would look like this:
Youth Group with a NEW SHORT LINK (try it out - it works)
Sorry for being so didactic. But those long, unwieldy links are really a pet peeve of mine.
