Read that subject again: SEASON finale, not series. Things are looking up.

Quote:
Justine Bateman, Judge Reinhold Guest-Star

A two-hour season finale episode of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT will air Friday, Feb. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In the season finale, George Sr. hires a new attorney who asks the Bluths to participate in a mock trial to help prepare them for the real thing. The attorney gets actor Judge Reinhold to preside over the mock case. Meanwhile, Buster fakes a coma to get out of testifying and George Michael and Maeby participate in a mock wedding to entertain hospital patients. Back at the office, Michael discovers he may have a long-lost sister named Nellie Bluth (Justine Bateman). In an effort to get to the bottom of things, Michael tracks down Nellie and hires her as a consultant for The Bluth Co. Unfortunately, Michael discovers Nellie's hands-on approach is more than he bargained for. Meanwhile, Gob goes to Iraq to perform his Christian magic act on the USO tour and ends up incarcerated. Michael learns George Sr. sent Gob to Iraq to burn down the model home he built there, so Michael and Buster fly to Iraq to spring Gob from prison. Together, the Bluth brothers head to the model home, where they make a discovery that could end the family's legal troubles forever. Back in Orange County, Lucille decides to throw a yacht party to celebrate. The Bluths gather aboard the Queen Mary for a trip that ends up being far from smooth sailing.

Damn shame this show is ending. Other than Curb Yer Enthusiasm, no show is funnier IMHO. Altho "The Office" is getting there.

8 so far, the remaining four being this night's worth of TV. I didn't think the first half of the season was so good, but these past few have been excellent. Let's hope they really pull out all the stops for this last night.

And then the show goes off to ABC or Showtime - whoever, wherever, anywhere ANYWHERE but Fox.

I don't know why they don't just go ahead and call it the series finale. If they weren't going to cancel it, they wouldn't they extend it back to 22 episodes?

Anyway, I can't WAIT for the 10th!

Yeah, but they didn't cancel it last season but still showed the scaled-back 18 episode season. My guess is that Fox knows they're sitting on something that could potentially be huge and they want to see if they can milk another network for it. Showtime is reportedly VERY interested in picking it up, but ABC may be the final home as the report I saw said that they've already planned a night of "adult comedy" around AD and Desperate Housewives and an as-yet-undetermined accompanying show. It's almost certain something is up or Fox really would have said "series finale."

Ya beat me to it...just came over to post this.

Apparently it's going up against the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Talk about throwing a show away...

Other than this idea, which was done first on the Clerks animated show, the episode sounds great.

We'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, but do you really think the people who care about watching the opening cere(yawn)monies of the winter Olympics are really the same people who would otherwise tune in for Arrested Development?

I don't think it matters one way or another...there's 4 million people that watch this show every week, period.

But it's a fact that the Opening Ceremonies are usually a BIG ratings winner. And while FOX is obviously just burning off the episodes, I think they're REALLY not putting any effort into it.

Kinda surprised they didn't just save 'em for the DVD, honestly.

Anyone know when season 2 (let alone season 3) is going to be released on DVD OUTSIDE the US? The only time it gets shown here is middle of summer 11, 11:30, 12pm, etc, before being bumped for the tennis

Little Britain is way overrated. It's a chore to watch more than one episode.
