"FACTORY GIRL" UPDATE
Shooting continues in Shreveport, La. -- standing in for Manhattan -- for Factory Girl, director George Hickenlooper's fictionalized biopic of Andy Warhol superstar Edie Sedgwick. The movie stars 24-year-old actress Sienna Miller in the title role, Guy Pearce as Andy Warhol and Hayden Christensen as a fictional character who bears a passing resemblance to Bob Dylan (who, the tabloids say, might sue if the movie suggested that he had romanced Sedgwick). Miller made paintings for the film "using her boobs as brushes," according to reports, and has hung the resulting artworks in her home. Factory Girl is expected to hit the theaters in September 2006.

Yeah, I've been trying to keep abreast of this. I have mixed feelings about Sienna playing Edie. I feel like she was picked more for her fashion sense then her acting.

I guess I'll have to wait and see about the rest of em.

Also, WTF with Shreveport standing in for Manhattan?? I'm sorry I don't know why they couldn't film in NY. It would make it a bit more authentic.

That has me worried as well, but in that 2nd picture, Sienna looks just like Edie.

Yeah but I saw some others of her in Vogue where she really doesn't. She tries but not always.

I guess she's a step up though from the original choice of Katie Friggin Holmes. :roll:

I'm still not sure how this flick will go over with people other then diehard Factory era fans.

yeah, she was the original pick. But then supposedly Tom said it went against the grain of what Scientology was about because Edie was a drug addict.

I think the real reason she was dropped as idea was her pregnancy and idiocy for dating Tom in the first place. :lol:

I agree. She would have been an awful choice to play Edie. Who in the hell is the casting director????
