Last-Ever Peel Session Documented on New Hot Snakes 7"

Ryan Schreiber reports:
And that about does it for 2004 where Hot Snakes is concerned. Late last month, the band wrapped up an ass-fisting two-month slog through the American heartland (and its outer perimeters). Those of you who didn't attend can cry your eyes out while blaring their recently released Audit in Progress-- or their new seven-inch, which has just been released on their own Swami imprint.

Wait. If you thought you just read the words "new," "seven" and "inch," you win. And if you thought you read the words "last Peel Session ever," you have ESP. (Lucky you-- clairvoyance is back in style.) Yes, up to his very last show, the great John Peel again proved his taste to be better than maybe anyone else's in the entire world: On October 14th, Hot Snakes entered the BBC studios at Maida Vale and laid down four tracks for the honourable Judge Peel-- the very last four tracks ever recorded in the show's nearly four-decade run. Now those four tracks are the subject of an ultra-limited seven-inch, available exclusively through the Swami label website. There's only 800 of these motherfuckers, people. I was so excited I had to tell everybody I know. Tracklist:

01 Brain Trust
02 This Mystic Decade
03 Automatic Midnight
04 No Hands

I bought it off their website last night. I'm a little peeved I didn't buy it at their show as it costs $5 for shipping but I guess beer was more important to me that night.

Shiv - i had a Hot SNakes album (The critical favorite i assume) but never got into it, but never gave it much of a chance. Is it worth revisiting?

i'm guessing you have Suicide Invoice. you might like the new one (Audit In Progress) better, Suicide Invoice took me awhile to get into also but the new one I liked right away. I should have it on slsk.
