I was going to rent FRWL a few weeks ago, but none of the Blockbusters in my area carry it. I found that bizarre because it's apparently one of the most popular Bond films.

If only there was an online service, for a minimal monthly fee, where one could find all these movies, that is not named Blockbuster...

at first I was going to respond to just Taxi Driver. Please see this as soon as possible.
Requiem for a Dream is alright. I used to like it a lot and it's not bad but not one of my favorite movies.
Spinal Tap made me laugh really hard.
Manhattan. :)

I don't remember what else I deleted off your list but there were some more movies I had seen and some movies I have been meaning to see. Make Taxi Driver a priority.

Taxi Driver is Scorceses best film.

I've seen bits of the Godfather but I've not actually seen the whole thing all the way through. Perhaps after my exams I'll pick them up on DVD and have a Sicilian day.

Brazil is a pile. There are many movies that do the same thing it wants to, but does them infi times better.

Which one? The Paul Muni one is superior.

There was a period of time when I was really obsessed with this movie. That being said, I still don't know if I think it's his best movie. There are things in it that always bothered me. For example, the ending with Betsy in the cab. Or the fact that there are no repercussions for his actions. Maybe they were pimps and other degenerates, but murder is still murder, is it not? I think I'd have to vote Raging Bull. I think it has fewer flaws (fewer than Goodfellas or Mean Streets too) and DeNiro is astounding in this one.

This is a must see! Certainly as much as Lawrence of Arabia is!

Actually I don't think I have ever seen any Woody Allen movie, which is weird because I love his stand up and his books.

I've always been waiting to see it reissued on the big screen, yet every time that happens, I seem to blow it and miss the show.
Grrrr.....

One thing people just viewing 2001 now will think: it's incredibly slow, why is it so damned slow? But many of the special effects were brand new when the movie was new and the long shots of languid space "action" were mighty impressive when seen for the first time. Also, the slowness of the film is meant to serve as a sort of space ballet.

I've never seen these. Passion Of Joan Of Arc is amazing. Possibly the single greatest female performance ever.

I mentioned this before, but I have yet to see a James Bond film. I notice there's quite a lot of "classic" films mentioned already that I have yet to see. I could probably count the number of films I've seen from the 60s (and before) on one hand. Same with European films as well.

Aside from The Graduate and Schindler's List, though both are good, I think you would like rest of these.
