Howdy all. I got the media server working with internet radio stations, so now I need something other than kexp.org to listen to. I know of no others, seriously. It also accepts podcasts, which I have never dealt with.

I need help.

What does everyone like listening to?

Is there free Georgia Bulldogs Radio out there somewhere?

All it has to be is streaming audio. This thing will bookmark it, and I can pull it up like radio stations from the wall touchpads. It's also pulling album cover art now, which is friggin cool.

Help me obie wan, you're my only hope.

WOXY and WOXY Vintage.

Sometimes, though not much lately, I also turn to WTMD from Towson University Radio. It tends to lean more towards the Country/Americana/Steve Earle end of the spectrum.

i usually listen to kexp myself, but a coworker turned me on to yahoo's launch radio recently. you can yea or nay what they play and it's been good so far. i've heard the national, pulp, belle and sebastian, sebadoh, yo la tengo, as well as a bunch of mid to late 90's powerpop that i'm sure i wouldn't have otherwise heard.

I liked WRIR.org, but haven't listened to it in a long time.

At the old job, I listened to like 7 hours of launch a day. Then it blocked me for never subscribing. It goes away, and you can use it again, but I didn't figure it out till a month later.

I heard all kinds of cool shit on that thing first... xtc, darkness, some of dwight yoakum's better albums, etc. The videos were nice, too.

radioio.com has some cool stations, especially the 80s one that plays some deep cuts.

Did you get a Soundbridge or Squeezebox or something else, Squirrgle? I have 2 Soundbridges.

I got a Russound SMS3 media server, which is a 155gig hard drive, run by linux, with a tv / monitor and mouse / keyboard interface. It has internet input, then 3 rca outs. I run it into a russound cam6.6 multi-zone receiver, controlled by wall pads. You dump all your music onto it, then plug the receiver into its xm antenna, and then bookmark mp3 streams online, and you can pull up damn near anything, anywhere in the house, without bugging anyone else (they can hear whatever they want too).

I'm noticing something about these online stations, tho. Seems to only want mp3 formats. Windows media or real player doesn't jive.

3wk. Since 1997. I've been listening since 1999, and I wouldn't be what I am without it.

This looks cool but I'm now having what I think is a problem...

Where in the shit is the option on windows xp to decide what program is the "default" for each type of file? I stumble across it once in a blue moon, but can never locate it when I want to.
