This is an formal application of a stoner idea I came up with in College. It entails essentially watching 5 movies in a row while eating and smoking. You get all your food deliverd so you literally never leave the couch. The idea is do very little (not that this is that much different from my daily life).

I need movie ideas. The group varies between nerds like myself to those who swim more in the mainstream. The two movies I am thinking of at this moment are.

Howl's Moving Castle
Annie Hall (I am on a lifelong quest to get more of my friends to like Woody Allen, although my converts are few)

I am open to anything!

Thanks

If I were doing this (and I have) I would get something for everyone:

Cheesy Action Movie (say, Point Break, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard or Red Dawn)

All time fave comedy (say, Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack or even Weding
Crashers or Old School depending on your company)

Stone Cold Classic Unseen by Most (original Manchurian Candidate, The Parallax View, Dr Strangelove)

Something Music related (The Last Waltz, Almost Famous, Ray)

The greatest movie ever made (For you this may be Annie Hall, for me it's Goodfellas)

This kind of covers everything. You can throw in a horror or romance or whatever, again, depending on audience. Hace fun, mang!

Back in college I went to the crummy dollar theater and saw Beautiful Girls, Seven and From Dusk 'Til Dawn one right after another.

No, you're supposed to enjoy the marathon. I haven't done this version, but I have done the Godfather marathon. All 3 with a smoke break in between.

We did this a few times in college...

First time we did cheesy hip hop movies like the House Party Series, Disorderlies, Krush Groove.

Junior year we did a Conan/Red Sonja+Dolph Lundgren night.

Senior year we did when animals attack night--Night of the Lepus, Pirahna 2, Slugs, Alligator, Cujo, and Jaws 4.

I only did this once a few years back. I had a bunch of people over and we did a Kevin Smith marathon.

Clerks... Mallrats... Chasing Amy... Dogma... Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back... all six episodes of the Clerks cartoon show... An Evening With Kevin Smith.

By the end of it, only my friend Brian and I remained. Everyone else caved and went home to go to sleep. But that was probably 14 or 15 hours in total. We took a few short breaks in between.

i love Blue Chips.
i thought they did a great job with a movie that could have easily been horrible.

I was going to suggest From Dusk Til Dawn, but it's already been mentioned. I love that movie.

Riveting movies (movies that I have gotten stuck in):

Bye Bye Birdie (no, seriously, Ann Margaret is the shit, and I love that syncopated dance sequence in the middle)
Fifth Element
Blade Runner
Princess Bride (I've seen it a million times, and I still get stuck every time it comes on)

You oughta work your way up from G to R, say start with Bye Bye Birdie, then Princess Bride, then Fifth Element, then Blade Runner, and ending with From Dusk Til Dawn.

I agree with the Senator: definitely included Old School. It's just such a damn easy movie to watch.
