There are a lot of bad magazines, but Rolling Stone takes the cake.

I might be wrong but for someone who apparently quite the Christian, isn't blasphemous (sp?) for him to be dressing up as JC?

Yeah - remember what happened to Puffy/Nas for the "Made You Look" video?

Guess it's different because, as opposed to Nas, Kanye is a non-threatening African-American male and, as opposed to Puffy, he makes music.[/i]

the thing i HATE about Kanye is that he has no freakin' clue what is good or bad. Eg. he thinks Maroon 5 and John Mayer are the best rock acts in the world, and he thinks Gold Digger is his best song. How come rockers can have good taste in hip-hop but rappers can never have good taste in rock music?

The Diplo remix of "Gold Digger"...probably his best song.

Indie rockers want the cred of liking hip hop, rappers want sales to increase by branching out to big 'rock' act fans

DING!

And the problem with Rolling Stone is it has NO EDITORIAL FOCUS. Is it US for musical artists? Is it Salon for rockers? Or does it just give article based handjobs to folks like JTimberlake and GStefani?

And I bet this article is by Toure

It's entertainment, folks. Calm the hell down and enjoy the ride. If you're looking to RS as a guide to new and exciting music then you're totally going in the wrong direction (save for Dave Fricke's 2-3 picks each issue). It's more like Time magazine for the music world. News junkies don't read Time to find out what's going on in the world; they read it to find out what's getting big-time play nationally.
We're the same way w/ RS. Though I do still dig Rob Sheffield's column, the (brazenly liberal) political stuff they do w/ Salon and the newsy/investigative stuff they turn Peter Wilkinson loose on.

So you like the bi-weekly no proof liberal articles? They read like bad editorials, IMO

Notice my use of the word brazen. They rate up there w/ Fox News on the Bill Simmons Unintentional Comedy Scale.

Its to the point now where I can't even read that stuff. I still subscribe to RS, cos I just like to read magazines, but GOOD GOD.
