Black Cadillac getting rave reviews for its direct dealing regarding the deaths of her dad, mom and step-mom. Haven't heard it. Her albums since 1990 have gotten respect from me but the style still doesn't elicit fandom, just respect.

Anyone heard it?

I know rads likes Carlene, I'd like to see what he and say, Mcap have to say about Roseanne's ouevre.

Black Cadillac . . . Anyone heard it?

Sounds awesome from the clips on AllMusic (who gave it a very, very long review and 4.5 stars.)

I'm with Frosted on this one. She keeps flirting with greatness, but seems shackled by her own puzzling adherence to convention. She had that one moment - I think it was King's Record Shop - where she allowed herself to get away from the slick, adult contemporary/ modern country crossover sorta sound - it's a sickness she shares with her ex hubby Rodney Crowell. Although, I gotta say, if all modern country was as good as Roseanne and Rodney it'd almost be listenable.

Still, I'd be curious to hear this new one - she's undoubtedly best when she picks at her own wounds.

It's to the right side of any Crowell style country-politan production. Will get a few more spins, but for what I have heard, I like it.

Had problems downloading this at home yesterday. But my computer's freaking out quite a bit lately. System replacement in the near future, I think.
