If anyone in the ATL or ATH wants to see a rocking show they should check out Second Shift, Y.O.U, and Heavy Mojo this Saturday at the 40 Watt in Athens (as if all you hipster nerds didn't know where it was). I am good friends with the guys in Second Shift and I pretty much think they kick ass. The other bands are excellent as well. Second Shift actually won Atlanta Music Journal's best local band.

Check out a couple of their websites:

You know what I just thought of? If we made the post count to get out of Street Teamerhood a little lower, we could make that the cut off point at which you're allowed to promote a band. Pagoda, for example, is a High School Poet, so he's immune. But if we made the minimum for poethood like 50 posts, we would have a definite point under which we could feel perfectly justified mercilessly berating someone for street teaming.

It's a thought, anyway.

I dont think anybody on this board lives in Athens, do they? Pretty strange considering the heavy Jorma/Boohoo/JoePaper vibe up there....

Haq not a bad idea even though I pretty much always feel bad whoring out friend's bands. But why not leave it at 100 and give ourselves the opportunity to berate more people.

Good point, but i figured maybe there was an "Office Linebacker" who could handle the job.

Speaking of which, its a good thing that none of you guys have an office linebacker.

I just listened to one of their songs but haven't seen them live. They sort of have a Jimmy Eat World feel to them.

Agreed. I like their methods of promotion. Non-invasive ... very friendly.
