How has Conan been with his talk of Finland?

Last night, he referenced Tarja's win over the weekend. They're apparently going to Finland in February.

And last night he brainstormed some ways Tarja could make it up to him, for him helping her win. Such as putting his face on the currency and changing the name of the country to Conanlandia.

I'm 25% Finnish.

I'm 0%, but my wife is 100%, so that makes my kids like 45% or something.

I thought BSS performance was pretty good. Except Conan's response of "we need more guitars" is exactly right. The members all seem like jackasses except for the bass player. I wouldn't mind meeting that guy....or fooling around with either of the ladies.

I'm not sure because none of them have Finnish passports or citizenship. 2 of them have Swedish citizenship, and 2 of them have US citizenship.

Me - U.S.
Wife - Sweden
Boy - U.S. and Sweden
Girl - U.S. (will get Sweden, once we can get to Chicago and submit the paperwork.)

Funny thing is all my wife's family are 100% Finn.

Ok. here's my question. I was always under the impression that as a citizen of the U.S. you were unable to obtain citizenship in anyother country without giving up your citizenship to the U.S. So then, how is it that your kids have or are going to have dual citizenship?

Also, I know some lady--actually, i don't know her. she was on jeopardy--but she was talking about how she was going to get her Irish citizenship soon and she would then contain dual citizenship with Ireland and the U.S. I am lost. Is it something related to spousal or offspring exceptions? Are the dual citizenships limited?

i keep misreading this thread title as rss on conan tonight or bs on conan tonight.

As far as I know they can retain citizenship in both countries. Some countries don't let you have dual citizenship, but I think the americans can. There also might be some countries that you can't have dual citizenship in, like I think she had to give up her Finnish citizenship to get financial aid from Sweden to go to school here. She could not maintain both. My kids were born here, so by default they are U.S. But because of my wife they are eligible for both.

I should really look into this more, as it seems to be something that could come back to bite me in the arse.
