Pilot Can At The Queer Of God

Is it:

a) 'can' meaning 'able'

b) 'can' as in 'tin can'

c) neither

d) The Flaming Lips. It's not supposed to make any sense.

Sounds like another example of the "Homosexualization of America". Or that's what the tight-assed lady on Larry King said. I'm sure she'd never approve of any band with "Flaming" in their name.

And what's up with Andrew Bird's song, Skin, Is My?

It's actually "Skin Is, My". Does that make more sense now?

There was an instrumental on his last album called "Skin" and this is kind of like the sequel, fleshed out with words and more instrumentation. Does that make more sense now?

Hehehe, not to me either. Cool song, though ;)

Still makes no sense to me. :?

Does the song "Skin" sound like "Skin Is, My"?

(What's that picture in your avatar, Davey?)

Yeah, the other one is the same general melody, but more stripped down and no vocals. I think it's on the third verse where he reverses the order of the words from "my skin is" to "skin is, my" and it sounds natural because it's picks up where the previous verse leaves off. But anyway, it's all just fun wordplay. The whole album is kind of like that. That's why I love it so much :)

The avatar is from the cover of the Circulatory System album, a crown of birds, which originally appeared in a different form on the Dusk At Cubist Castle cover before the split of Olivia Tremor Control into two bands.

Speaking of song titles, I never understood what "Here Is No Why" by The Smashing Pumpkins meant.

I think it's probably a reference to MBV's "To Here Knows When," but I don't know what that means either.

I always interpreted it as "pilot is able to at the queer of god". Meaning 'queer' was an verb.

But that still doesn't answer what it means. I'd need to know what "to queer" means.

That explanation makes less sense than the title ;)

I think it has something to do with lesbian helicopter pilots ... and lots and lots of drugs.
