How did this place so low on Shmoo's pole? It's such a beautiful record (if you lop off that last track). I'm really surprised.

after seeing the list, i'm not surprised at all really.

agreed. dead beautiful.

supposedly she will be doing some vocals on Max Richter's next album. that makes me very happy.

Max's records don't have much of an impact on me. Perhaps they will yet.

I still think "Lookaftering" was the type of record that I'd be able to widely agree on with people here.

I heard it after my list was finished, but I'm not sure it would have pushed anything off. And that doesn't mean I don't like it- it's quite lovely. Given a choice between it and the Marissa Nadler disk, I'd take the Nadler every time, though.

Vashti was #6 for me (possibly too high)
Marissa was #16 (about right)

I may only have it on my iPod at this point. I'll look around (as I'm seeking out the vinyl too).

Kind of reminds me of a darker, flatter (not in a bad way) Nina Nastasia?
