Haven't had it for more than 6 years.
I don't miss it.
Just rabbit ears to pick up VHF and UHF channels.

Does anyone else here lack that luxury?
No cable.
No satellite.
No dish.

Just antenna.

I gurarantee you that most of you would adjust if you got rid of your pay service. I read a lot more now.

I quit paying for cable, but they haven't unhooked it yet. My guess is they will do it right in time for Super Bowl, but no matter 'cause I'm not watching it at home.

I mostly don't have cable. I don't pay for it.

If I hook my TV up to the cable outlet I get a handful of cable channels with shitty reception. Mostly I just use an antenna. I only watch two shows anyway, both on major networks.

haven't had cable since last spring, didn't even have an antennae over the summer. it's great; the only time i even think to turn on the TV* is when watching DVD's or "LOST."

*but shit, i miss the daily show, the gauntlet and project runway.

Pretty much the only thing I'd watch on cable is Comedy Central.

Rabbit Ears, here. You take for granted the PBS when you're fully juiced w/ cable. Quality programming on that channel.

without a doubt.
most of what i watch is PBS.
Forget the whole educational thing (even though it usually is); that's just some damn good entertainment.

Don't have it, don't miss it. And I can actually agree on the PBS thing.

Haven't had cable in... 4 years I think? Yep, I read more.

It was a shitload cooler, though, several months ago when HDTV was coming in for free. Then, after the last UGA game, it magically dried up... every channel.

over the course of my life i've gone back and forth between not having any sort of TV and having like ultra super cable. I've gotten used to both quickly enough, but I'm more reliant on cable now than I ever have been. I can only think of a few network shows I even watch anymore.

if it weren't for sports, I'd probably ditch cable...last year I won and HDTV and I've never bothered to get HD proramming hooked up because, I'm just not that motivated

FYI, if anyone has cable internet, the cable company has no way to block the TV signal from coming through...so throw a splitter on there and you're all set

coming through the cable...I'm not sure of the technical specifics, but I just know it works

we have satellite for TV, but cable for the internet...rather than have a satellite cable and a cable cable coming out of the wall in our computer room, we just split the cable used for internet and hooked up the 2nd split up to the TV

edit: I see now. I still wouldn't get HBO though and that's half the reason I have cable, so no dice for me.

Switched to satellite after I got tired of paying out the ass for Comcast... never been happier. I get most of the cable channels, plus 8 channels of HBO for less than what I would have paid for "expanded" digital cable with no HBO.

I didn't have cable from 99 until really when I moved into Redlands last year. I had it off and on, but mostly off. Whole year in NH w/o, etc...

I just got thrown out of the place I was squatting, which had free cable + HBO and Skinemax. Now, I only have channels 1-22. No MTV, No VH1, No MSNBC, No Food Network(only channels I really watch)

Femgar gets every channel under the sun, tho, so I'll be aight.

Like you, I do not lack, but neither do I have cable TV.

Don't even have a TV.

Have 3 VCRs, 3-ish DVD players, 2 laserdisc players, but none of them are hooked up to anything right now.

No rabbit ears. If I did, I'd probably try to hump a balloon.

Just mooch off my friends, occasionally. But not even really that much.
